Garbage Collection in California

आजकल हम बेंगळूरु से कैलिफ़ोर्निया आए हुए हैं।
यहाँ कूडा संग्रह और निकास (Garbage collection and disposal) के प्रबन्ध से मैं प्रभावित हुआ हूँ।
हम यहाँ एक छोटी सी कॉलोनी में रह रहे हैं जहाँ करीब १५० परिवार अपने अपने घरों में रहते हैं।
हर घर को, अलग अलग रंग के तीन मोटी कूडा पेटियाँ (garbage bins) दी गई हैं
एक हरी, एक नीली और एक भूरी (gray). करीब ४ फुट ऊँची और पहिए सहित।

हर परिवार से अपेक्षा की जाती है कि वे अपने घर में ही कूडे को अलग करके इन डिब्बों में रखेंगे। नीली bin में वह कूडा जिसका कोई उपयोग नहीं किया जा सकता (जैसे sanitary napkins, diapers वगैरह)। grey bin में वह कूडा जिसका पुनरुपयोग (recycling) किया जा सकता है| हरी बिन में रसोई घर से निकला कूडा, जैसे सब्जियों के खाल, बचा हुआ खाना/पकान और बाग-बगीचे से पत्तियाँ/टहनियाँ (यानी सभी organic wastes) को रखे जाते हैं

हर बृहस्पतिवार को इन डिब्बों को घर के बाहर रखे जाते हैं और एक बडा सा ट्रक आता है (जिसमे केवल एक ड्राइवर होता है, और कोई सहायक नहीं) और इन डिब्बों को उठाकर खाली करता है।

ट्रक में एक यंत्र लगा होता है जिसके सहारे, ड्राइवर, अपनी जगह बैठे ही सब काम कर लेता है।

तीन चित्रों के साथ, २८ seconds का एक विडियो क्लिप embed करना चाहा था पर पता नहीं कैसे करते हैं ।

फ़िलहाल जो यह क्लिप देखना चाहते हैं इस लिंक पर जा सकते हैं

भारतवासियों को इसके बारे में जानकारी देने के लिए ही मैंने यह पोस्ट किया था।
आगे चलकर यहाँ डाक सेवा के बारे में भी लिखने का इरादा है

इसी तरह (बिना Youtube में upload किये) एक छोटा सा विडियो क्लिप भी directly यहाँ embed कर सकते हैं?
कैसे?
आपने शायद पहले भी इसके बारे में बताया होगा।
हम भी खोज करेंगे, पर यदि आप लिंक दे सकते हैं तो सुविधा होगी।

This was simple.
But my question was different.
I dont have a Youtube account.
I am not asking for a you tube video to appear here.
The clip is recorded by me and is available on my hard disk
The sizes of these Short video files will range between 2 mb to maximum 6 mb
How to introduce this into the post directly just as I am able to do for jpg picture files?
This time I used my dropbox account
Is there a better, easier way?
I can greatly enhance the value of my postings if this is possible.

We have never tried it. Let me test if the same youtube embed code works for other site too. If it does, well and good. If not, sadly we will have to make do with sharing link. In the meantime, use the direct link to your dropbox. Create a public folder in dropbox, for sharing; that way your personal content will be safe.

Sorry, doesn't work. Video files won't play itself. :( But, we can still use links for now.

Can't test for skydrive. Skydrive generates embed code, similar to our "youtube" button. But, I can't find HTML editor, so it does not work.

Any idea why I can't switch to HTML editor? It just switches back to WYSIWYG editor, when I select "Switch editor mode". Am I missing something?

Directly embedding a video link, stored on my hard disk, without going through Youtube was just an item in my "wish list"
In my present post, I used my Dropbox public folder and will continue till sometime in future perhaps this facility is made available on this forum.

Don't worry, embedding all types of files is in my wish-list as well. Sadly, before that, there is a long list of items, and most of them (including this one) are dependent on forum software upgrade. Still, I will try to find out that HTML editor bug. If we can fix that, skydrive and dropbox will work with some trickery.
