1.K.Radhakrishnan has recently been appointed as the new chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO).

2. Renowned Indian scientist Prof. Yashpal has won the UNESCO's prestigious Kailga award for the Popularisation of Science.

3.Rajasthan Electronic and Instruments Limited has won the SCOPE(Standing Conference of Public Enterprises) award in categories of small enterprises for its work in the development of Rural areas during the year 2006-07.

4. India has been ranked as 134th out of 182 countries in Human development report release in October this year.

5.The First Human Development Report was published in 1990 by United Nations Development Programme(UNDP.)

6.National Institue for research on climate and Environment( A joint initiatve of ISRO and Ministry of Forest and Environment) has been proposed to be set up in Bangalore .

7.Madhya Pradesh is going to have its first Nuclear Power project as NPCIL(Nuclear Power corporation of India Limited) decides to set up a 1400MW power plant in Mandla.

8. The Winners of 2009 Nobel Prize for Physics are : Charles K. Kao, G.E Smith and Willard S. Boyle.

9. The Winners of 2009 Nobel Prize for Chemistry are V. Ramakrishnan, Thomas Steitz and Ada Yonath.

10. The Winners of 2009 Nobel Prize for Medicine are Elizabeth H. Balackburn,Jack W. Szostak and Carol W. Greider.

11. The 2009 Nobel Prize for Literaure has been won by A Romania born German writer Herta Mueller.

12. The 2009 Nobel Prize for Economics has been won by Oliver Williamson and Elinor Ostrom.

13. Ghana becomes the first African country to win the Under-20 Football world cup beating Brazil in the Final match played at cairo(Egypt) October this year.

14.The River Dolphin found in Ganga has been declared as the National Aquatic Animal by the central Government to save it from the extinction.

15. Sanya Nehwal has become the first Indian to win the World Junior Badminton Championship defeating Saiko sato of Japan at Pune in November this year.

16. Shri Kumar Benarjee has taken over Anil Kakodhar as the new chairman of AEC(Atomic Energy commission) of India.

17. The Crystal Prize for the year 2009 has been awarded to famous Bharatnattayam artist Mallika Sarabhai by World Economic Forum.

18. The Union Law Minister Verappa Moily has been awarded Moorti Devi Puraskar for his Book Ramayanam Anveshanam for the year 2009.

19. The renowned classical singer Pandit Bheemsen Joshi has been awarded the Bharat Ratna this time. It has been first time after 2001 that this prestigious award has been given. In 2001. it was recieved by Ustad Bismillah Khan and Lata Mangeshkar.

20. The Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) has won the race to host 2016 Olymic Games beating Madrid , chicago and Tokyo in October this year.
