Fantastico is a commercial script library that automates the installation of web applications to a website. Fantastico scripts are executed from the administration area of a website control panel such as cPanel. Fantastico's web site claims that they are installed on ten thousand servers, with a million users worldwide.

I think, fantastico sucks and you will have even more opinions why fantastico is bad, but there are some other reasons why you dont want to have fantastico install your wordpress blog.

First and foremost is that fantastico installs at the root of your account making ownership of the file system by fantastico not you.

So that later when you need to upgrade you will have a 60 percent chance of failure of the upgrade, this will cause you to pull your hair out.
