The clouds now gather above,
a reminder of Winter forseen
I open my door and marrow,
welcoming the veering wind

Essence of mahogany, cedar and pine touch my cheek
The wind ingesting the departed summer,
issuing it's own decree of fall


I descry a sommer crow
Contort, lumbering above with polished wings
His song fills my soul as we share a lament
My heart in longing with my friend
pulling in our deep sorrows

He notices me for but a moment,
Nothing more amassed
As on cue he finds a thermal
leaving me forsaken, widowed in twlight

Stepping out into the early night,
I lean over a still pond,
My hands touch fallen leaves
I long to hear my Crows song,
and drop tears in the remembering

Deep in mist and shadows I forbear
The chimera of this embrace is now at hand
Your desire for immortally, an edge away


In a danse macabre, you will Become
Succumb to the sounds, the offering
Claws racking at lesions
Mouths suckling luscious blades
Ruby ambrosia glistening in twilight


But before closing the path, I ask with fervent eyes
Let us kiss and hold your last breath
And go beyond the shadows, with a secrecy hallowed
Walk with me into ongoing forever
To never hide away, to never die again

Deep gashes and scratches in the wood from
fingers struggling to get out.

Your scent still caught in my hair
Your blood still on my lips

The screams echoing in my ears forcing
a low growl to escape my throat as I
recall the moments just past

If you had come to me willingly perhaps
with eyes bright, full of passion
Then maybe........

I am the eventide, the darkness you seek
My eyes, the gateway to amaranthine
Your flesh, liquid reverence


With a stroke of your fingers
I will burn for days
scaring my life, A laurel I wear, proudly

I see the night in your eyes
The death of the many, the salvation of none
Unquestionably I become your wretch, your thrawl

When we embrace, pools of blood ensue
I taste the sweetness there on the landing,
smearing the temped life across my lips
Then lying in a mere bath of yearning
I invite you willingly and let go my earthly bounds

CHILD OF THE NIGHT

A Child of the Night
From the abyss
My darkened world
Entered she.
A light brilliant
Received into
My chasm of despair.
Of her know I only
Thru fingers delicate
The words she does send.
Desires, hopes and dreams
Nocturnally quietly shared.
On wings of an Angel
Unto my shadowed existence
Intoxication she did cultivate.
Upon this desolate Soul
With empathy reaching out
Of my doubts she shared.
Her Music is Life eternal
But only one Man
Her heart stolen has he.
With ethereal love divided
By miles countless
Of their sacrament
The power be destiny.
Life is hard said she once.
Of this I understand.
No doubt have I
That this be sincere
Her freedom
Strength will be.
Thankfulness I confer
For friendship reciprocated
And to her
Magickal wishes
For the Life craved.

Ears deafened
Stories I whisper.
Misery embraced
As entombed dreams
Are abandoned.
Searing flesh
Wrought with sin
Compares not
Within the skin
I reside.
Through
Door of Hades
Find I passage.
Trembling
In solitude
Emerging
Surrender I
This relinquished
Soul
Unto the night.
Welcomed
Are you
To crawl
Within the chasm
Of my cynical
Demented mind.
Walk cautiously
As darkness
Devours
Your radiance.
Enter
Suffering
Encircled
By chains
And endure
Memories haunted
That confine
My thoughts
With endless agony.
Among coldness
Dwell I each day
While as
A prisoner
I survive.
In your presence
Beg I release
From this
Pain of Life.
Amid
My dead soul
Through
A River of Blood
You journey.
Within my torment
Let your heart soak
Allowing freedom
From my anguish.
Buried within
Hushed silence
Of Eternity
Myself I whore

Derangement encircling
This tragedy
Into my World
He has adorned.
Heretofore
Deceased heart
Consecrated by
Poetic script.
Everlasting
Ethereal voice
Affords ecstasy.
Impending lucidity
Reprieved
By majestic presence.
Lyrical darkness
Illuminates consciousness.
Profound
Eyes of Jade
Bid hunger
To endure
Life's cruelty.
From a poisonous world
He has extricated
This defenseless Being.

Deep I stand

As blistering drops
Conceal torment.
In silence of night
Lacerated heart
Sorrowfully bleeding.
Dreams of tomorrow
Yesterday swindled.
Malice aforethought
Of hurt conceived
As promises severed
Before his God.
Upon wings battered
Within darkest caverns
Of a Masticated Soul
Amid shadows I journey.
Searching eyes shrouded
Thru glasses black
Never dry are tears I weep.

Blinded by fear

Because I could not stop for Death, He kindly stopped for me;

And Immortality.

We slowly drove, he knew no haste, And I had put away
My labor, and my leisure too, For his civility.

We passed the school where children played, Their lessons scarcely done;
We passed the fields of gazing grain,
We passed the setting sun.

We paused before a house that seemed
A swelling on the ground;
The roof was scarcely visible, The cornice but a mound.

Since then ’tis centuries; but each
Feels shorter than the day
I first surmised the horses’ heads
Were toward eternity.

On the cold stone her pale cheeks. Sickly smells
Of death issue as from a sepulchre,
And all is silent but the sighing vaults.

Chill death withdraws his hand, and she revives;
Amazed, she finds herself upon her feet,
And, like a ghost, thro’ narrow passages
Walking, feeling the cold walls with her hands.

Fancy returns, and now she thinks of bones And
grinning skulls, and corruptible death Wrappe
in his shroud; and now fancies she hears Deep
sighs, and sees pale sickly ghosts gliding.

At length, no fancy but reality
Distracts her. A rushing sound, and the feet Of
one that fled, approaches. Ellen stood Like a
dumb statue, froze to stone with fear.

The wretch approaches, crying: ‘The deed is done;
Take this, and send it by whom thou wilt send;
It is my life—send it to Elenor:
He’s dead, and howling after me for blood!

howling: she received into her arms
Pale death, and followed on the wings of fear.

They passed swift thro’ the outer gate; the wretch,
Howling, leaped o’er the wall into the moat,
Stifling in mud. Fair Ellen passed the bridge,
And heard a gloomy voice cry ‘Is it done?’

As the deer wounded, Ellen flew over
The pathless plain; as the arrows that fly
By night, destruction flies, and strikes in darkness.
She fled from fear, till at her house arrived.

Her maids await her; on her bed she falls,
That bed of joy, where erst her lord hath pressed:
‘Ah, woman’s fear!’ she cried; ‘ah, cursed duke!
Ah, my dear lord! ah, wretched Elenor!

‘My lord was like a flower upon the brows
Of lusty May! Ah, life as frail as flower!
O ghastly death, withdraw thy cruel hand;
Seek’st thou that flower to deck thy horrid temples?

‘My lord was like a star in highest heav’n
Drawn down to earth by spells and wickedness;

fall’n like the stately tree, cut down;
The breath of heaven dwelt among his leaves.
O Elenor, weak woman, filled with woe!’

Thus having spoke, she raised up her head,
And saw the bloody napkin by her side,
Which in her arms she brought; and now, tenfold
More terrified, saw it unfold itself.

Her eyes were fixed; the bloody cloth unfolds,
Disclosing to her sight the murdered head
Of her dear lord, all ghastly pale, clotted
With gory blood; it groaned, and thus it spake:

‘O Elenor, I am thy husband’s head,
Who, sleeping on the stones of yonder tower,
Was ’reft of life by the accursed duke!
A hired villain turned my sleep to death!

‘O Elenor, beware the cursed duke;
O give him not thy hand, now I am dead;
He seeks thy love; who, coward, in the night,
Hired a villain to bereave my life.’

She sat with dead cold limbs, stiffened to stone;
She took the gory head up in her arms;
She kissed the pale lips; she had no tears to shed;
She hugged it to her breast, and groaned her last.

Lovely poem Saint Alaik, Sir. This reminds me the immortal verse of Hazrat Amir Khusrau (1253-1325) which goes as under:

Man tu shudam, tu man shudi,
Man jan shudam, tu tan shudi,
Ta kas na goyad baaz az-in
Man digaram u tu digari.
