Kitani Mohabbat Hai tells the story of Arjun Punj and Arohi Sharma.the show begins with a lawyer, ganga rai coming to a prison to meet a convict, arjun punj who has been imprisoned for the last 2.5 years there. She wants to save him as she believes he is innocent. After a lot of forcing, arjun tells the story of his life and then we see a flashback of 2.5 years ago. Arjun punj and Arohi sharma come from different worlds-Arohi has been raised to be a kind and caring person, while Arjun has been raised to believe money is the only important thing in the world. Arjun hates women because his own mother walked out on him when he was a child. Arohi is an excellent singer and is helped by Arjun to get onto a train [not actually, they didn't see each other's face] while going for a music competition. She is rejected by Arjun who is a judge in that competition because she came late. when Arohi's father loses his job,she puts her singing dreams aside and decides to apply for a job in Arjun's office. Arjun ,who got a good slap from Arohi when he [while arguing with her] criticized her father and family, and inturn rejects her but she is appointed by his father D.K. Punj as an attempt to butter her father to get some land from him and she becomes the recipient of Arjun's wrath. but as they spend more time together, they develop feelings for each other and gradually, fall in love. but destiny had its own plans.arjun soon comes to know that his mom is arohi's badimaa which even arohi does not know.he misunderstands her and thinks it was his mom's plan to take all his wealth and she used arohi.his father encourages this thought as he hates arohi as she is a middle class girl and wants him to marry natasha mittal.arjun starts to harass arohi and gives her a lot of pain while poor arohi is confused and deeply hurt.an engagement ceremony is held for arjun and natasha[arjun reluctantly agreed for this in order to again hurt arohi]but by mistake he puts the ring on arohi's finger in the dark.when the lights come, everybody is shocked and arjun thinking it is arohi's plan,humiliates arohi in front of everyone by harshly criticizing her and her family and arohi equally shocked and hurt,slaps arjun and says"even if you are the last person in this world,I would never marry you" and throws the ring on his face and leaves the place in tears.savitha proves to arjun that she was innocent and it was his dad who made her to leave them 16 years ago and tells arohi only tried to tell him this and she loves him very much.arjun,shocked at the betrayal of his father,goes in search of arohi and meets with an accident with a vehicle in which arohi was taking her ill father to hospital.arohi,DK and arohi's father are rushed into hospital and arjun finds out that arohi is on the brink of death and near her in the ICU,he makes a vow with god that he will protect her and'll be always with her like a shadow but would never let her know about that and she is saved.arjun,continues to act rude in front of arohi but helps her whenever needed without her knowledge.arohi,who now thinks it was the biggest mistake of her life to trust arjun, has immense hatred for arjun because of the past events and moves to mumbai along with antra and sur in order to become a singer.arjun's passion sees no bounds as he also accompanies her leaving behind his dad and all the wealth of the punj empire.Soon after arjun leaves punj empire the financial status of the empire begins to fall ,and in mumbai arjun does every single thing to prevent arohi from getting in trouble and pursue her dreams, and while attending on music concert of music sensation karan sing (Hiten Tejwani)arohi finds out that the singer has copied her song without giving her any information. then arohi raises her voice which was threatening karan, and he persuades arohi by saying he would make her a star and she accepts the proposal ,now slowly arjun also tries to find jobs, but he is unable to, as his father calls the company beforehand and tell them not to give him a job. He then finds a job as a clown in a kids party, in the party arohi is also here to find a job for herself and arohi nearly sees arjun there but arjun is saved. Sur, arohi's sister gets a scholarship and tells arohi which arohi is really happy about. Whilst Arjun is playing the clown at the party Arohi fails to recognise him and admires his goodness. Arohi compliments him for being so jovial and gives him the money which she had received. A tarot card reader tells Arjun that the coming days are full of danger and one day he will have a real gun in his hand and that a life will be lost. Ganga Rai asks Arjun if what the lady said did it come true but before Arjun can answer, the cops come to take him for his court hearing. At the court the decision is made arjun is to be hanged to death. Ganga Rai the lawyer of arjun asks the judge if he would give her a chance to prove that arjun is innocent but the judge says no and asks her to appeal to the supreme court. Arjun then tells Ganga ray his story. Karan then goes to arohi's house where he sees arjun and is surprised seeing him living in the same house as arohi, he then offers arjun a partnership in his company arohi then reaches the studio but karan tell her she will be singing as a backup while somebody else will lip sync which disappoints arohi. Karan likes arohi's singing and pats her on an inappropriate place and arohi slaps him in front of everyone. Karan covers his embarrassment up very intelligently. Arjun tries convincing karan singh that he and arohi are enemies whereas, Karan is doubtful. Karan tells everyone that Arjun is his business partner and introduces Arohi as his lead singer to everybody.

This is exactly what happens when Arjun, a business tycoon meets Arohi, a simple small town girl brought up with the right values.



Their worlds collide and Arjun becomes the cause of a great calamity in Arohi’s life. Arjun’s passion sees no bounds as he leaves all the luxuries of his life, goes against his father wishes, changes his identity with the sole aim of nurturing Arohi’s dream..
