What Is IP Address, Types and Address On Internet

Every device which connects to the Internet is assigned with a unique number known as an Internet Protocol (IP) address. IP addresses consist of four numbers separated by periods (also called a 'dotted-quad') and look something like 192.168.0.65. From an IP address, you can identify the region or country from which a computer is connected to the Internet.

Typical Home Networks

Before going into the topic, it's essential to understand the basics and how you connect to the Internet. When more than one device are connected to each other, then this kind of setup is called a LAN - Local Area Network. PC to Router, PC to Switch, PC to PC etc. all these kind of setups are known as LAN.

In most of the Home Networks :

1. Either your PC connects directly to the Internet using a modem.

2. Your PC connects to the Router (which you received from ISP) via Cable and then the Router connects you to the Internet.

3. Your PC connects to the Switch (which your Network Cable Operator has placed either inside your house or outside somewhere), from Switch the cable goes to the Network Cable Operator's office, where the cable connects to the Router (In his office he would be having a Router) and then the Router connects to the Internet.

4. Your Laptop, Mobile etc. connects Wirelessly to the Wireless Router and then the Router connects to the Internet.

Types Of IP Addresses And How You Get One

After knowing the basics of Home Networks, now let me explain you the things in steps, so that it will become easier for you to digest the stuff.

1. If your PC / Device is connected to a Router, then your Router will assign a unique LAN address to each device which is connected to it. That address will look like 192.168.1.101 also known as Private IP Address. This address uniquely identifies your device on that LAN only. You cannot use this IP address to connect to the Internet.

2. If your PC / Device / Router is directly connected to the Internet (for example, DSL modem), then it will have an IP address, which will be assigned by your ISP and will be unique, which is also known as a Public IP Address. Each time you connect to the Internet, your ISP will assign you a different Public IP Address.

3. In most of the Home networks where you have a Router in placed, the Router will then have a Public IP address which your ISP will assign it (automatically) and all the devices which are connected to the Router (your PC, mobile, printer etc) will then have a different Private IP address which your Router will assign it.

Now get ready for the confusion :)

4. The devices which are part of the LAN (PC, Mobile etc.), all will have a similar Public IP Address but different Private IP Address. As already said above, the Router will assign each device (which is connected to it) a different Private IP Address, but when the device (which is connected to Router) try to check its Public IP Address, it will see the same Public IP as Router has it from the ISP. It's because the Router acts like a Gate of your House, all of your Internet queries passes through it only. That's why Router replaces the device's Private IP Address with its own Public IP Address and same info you get it when you try to look your device's Public IP address on Internet. (Yea Yea I know, I am not going into the depth of networking. Just trying to give you the basic idea of it)

How To Check My Public IP / Internet Address

There are tons of websites on the Internet where you can check your PC's Public IP address along with other useful details, but the quickest and easiest way is to GOOGLE it. Yea... Simply type WHAT IS MY IP ADDRESS or WHAT IS MY IP or WHAT IS IP or just type IP in the search bar and press Enter key. It will immediately show your PC's Public IP Address.

Easy Way to Download and Install Free Fonts from the Google Collection

If you are one of the many PC users who like to have a variety of fonts on your computer, now is your chance to make a big addition to your collection. For several years Google has had a very large catalog of fonts that are free and open source (link here (http://www.google.com/fonts/)). However, using them meant manually browsing through a large selection online to see what you wanted to download and install.
But now Google has just made its collection available for download (http://googledevelopers.blogspot.com/2013/05/download-google-fonts-to-your-desktop.html) with an app called "SkyFonts" from Monotype. The app installs fonts that you select from the collection and comes in both 32- and 64-bit versions. It works in Windows XP on up but it does require installation of the full .NET 4.0 framework. The app provides for automatic updating if new characters are added to a font. The app is available at this link (http://www.fonts.com/web-fonts/google).
There are 1109 fonts and installation is done through the interface shown below. You still have to select and install fonts individually but the app makes it quite easy.

मदर बोर्ड के ड्राइवर फ्री में डाउनलोड करने का सबसे आसान तरीका


जब आपके सिस्टम में ड्राइवर नहीं होता तो अधिकतर सिस्टम में उस ड्राइवर पर पीले रंग का आईकन बना होता है। अगर आप अपने मदर बोर्ड के ड्राइवर डाउनलोड करना चाहते हो तो सबसे पहले आप माई कंप्यूटर पर राईट क्लीक करके प्रोपर्टी पर जाए फिर Hardware+Device Manager पर क्लीक करे। अब आपको कोई सा भी ड्राइवर चाहिए उस पर राईट क्लीक करके प्रोपर्टी पर क्लीक करे।

इसके बाद जो विंडो खुलेगी उसमे ऊपर की साईट आपको चार ओपशंस दिखाई देंगे। वह आपको Details पर क्लीक करके Device instance id पर क्लीक करना है Device instance id पर क्लीक करने के बाद आपको निचे बॉक्स में एक आईडी दिखाई देगी जेसा आप निचे चित्र में देख रहे हो।

अपनी आईडी का गलत इस्तेमाल होने से बचाए

इंटरनेट का इस्तेमाल आजकल हर कोई करता है। कोई एक ही जगह से इंटरनेट का इस्तेमाल करता है और कोई अलग अलग जगह से नेट का इस्तेमाल करता है। अलग अलग जगह से इंटरनेट का इस्तेमाल करने पर अक्सर कई लोगो के साथ ये परेशानी आती है कि वो जल्दी जल्दी में अपनी आईडी Sign Out करना भूल जाते है। Sign Out ना करने के कारण कोई भी उस आई डी का गलत इस्तेमाल कर सकता है।

अगर आप किसी सिस्टम पर अपनी जीमेल की आईडी को Sign Out करना भूल गये है, तो आप किसी और सिस्टम से अपनी आईडी को लॉग इन करने के बाद किसी दुसरे सिस्टम पर खुली हुई आईडी को बंद कर सकते है।

किसी दुसरे सिस्टम पर खुली हुई अपनी आईडी को बंद करने के लिए आईडी को लॉग इन करे। लॉग इन करने के बाद जीमेल की आईडी में राईट साईट सबसे निचे आपको Details लिखा दिखाई देगा। आपको इस पर क्लीक करना है।

System restore करके अपनी विंडो की हर परेशानी को दूर करे
कंप्यूटर पर काम करते करते कुछ न कुछ परेशानी आ ही जाती है। वायरस की वजह से या फिर किसी और वजह से इन परेशानियों को दूर करने के लिए अक्सर लोग अपने सिस्टम को फोर्मेट कर देते है। लेकिन जैसा मैं पहले भी बता चूका हु की हर समस्या का समाधान फोर्मेट करना नहीं होता। बहुत सी ऐसी ट्रिक होती है जिसे करने के बाद आप अपने सिस्टम को पहले जेसा कर सकते है। एक ऐसी ही ट्रिक के बारे में आपको आज की पोस्ट के जरिये बता रहा हु की आप बिना फोर्मेट करे अपनी विंडो की समस्या को केसे दूर कर सकते हो।

विंडो में बहुत से ऐसे ओप्शन्स होते है। जो आपके बहुत काम आते है लेकिन बहुत से लोगो को उन ओप्शन्स के बारे में पता नहीं होता। जिसकी वजह से वो लोग विंडो को फोर्मेट कर देते है। एक ऐसा ही ओप्सन्स System restore के नाम से विंडो में होता है। जिसका लोग इस्तेमाल ही नहीं कर पाते।

आज की पोस्ट के जरिये आप लोगो को System restore के बारे में बता रहा हु। ये एक बेहतरीन सर्विस है आपकी विंडो की। जिसका इस्तेमाल करके आप अपनी विंडो को पहले जेसा कर सकते है। जब भी आपके सिस्टम में कोई परेशानी आये या फिर कोई सेटिंग बिगड़ जाए या आपने अपना कोई डाटा गलती से डिलीट कर दिया हो तो System restore चलाए और अपनी सारी परेशानियों को दूर करे।

मैं अक्सर System restore वाले ओप्सन्स का इस्तेमाल करता हु। इसका इस्तेमाल करना बहुत ही आसान है। विंडो XP के लिए अपने सिस्टम को रिस्टार्ट करे और किबोर्ड से F8 का बटन दबा कर अपने सिस्टम को सेफ मोड़ में खोले।

Next पर क्लीक करने के बाद आपके साने एक विंडो खुलेगी जेसा आप ऊपर चित्र देख रहे है आप लेफ्ट साईट दिए गये कलेंडर में किसी भी उस बोल्ड तारीख को सलेक्ट कर सकते है जिस तारीख में आपको सिस्टम रिस्टोर करना है तारीख सलेक्ट करने के बाद राईट साईट वाले बॉक्स में System Checkpoint वाले ओप्सन्स पर क्लीक करके Next पर क्लीक कर दे। Next पर क्लीक करते ही आपका सिस्टम रिस्टार्ट होकर रिस्टोर होना शुरू हो जाएगा। रिस्टोर होने के बाद विंडो दुबारा खुलेगी और आपकी हर वो परेशानी दूर हो जायेगी जो किसी सोफ्टवेयर, सेटिंग या फिर वायरस की वजह से आई होगी।

How To Restore Chrome’s Old New Tab Page

Google has recently revamped its New Tab page yet again in the latest stable release of Chrome, and many users are less than thrilled with the change. There has been a flood of negative feedback, and quite honestly, I didn’t fancy the change much either. The new New Tab page puts a large Google logo and search box in the center of the screen, with some of your most frequently visited sites below it. While it may be Google’s way of babysitting novice users who don’t know they can search by typing directly into the browser’s address bar, the change seem frustrating to those of us who relied on the page for accessing our Chrome apps, recently closed tabs and tabs from our other synced devices –all features removed from the updated New Tab page. Fortunately, JR Raphael of Computerworld has shared a handy tip that allows you to restore Chrome’s old New Tab page easily via the browser’s experimental flags. Read on for our step by step guide.

The screenshot below demonstrates the new New Tab page, carrying a search box that welcomes users in the new Google Chrome release. Though the address bar field itself acts as the search field as well – a trend initiated by Chrome itself, and adopted by almost all popular desktop and mobile browsers nowadays including Firefox, Opera, Safari, Dolphin etc. Therefore, Google’s implementation of search within the new tab can be simply considered redundant. Furthermore quoting what JR explains, accessing the bookmarks and tabs syncing features of Chrome between desktop and mobile is ever more difficult now.

To restore the previous New Tab page, you will need to make use of the Experimental Devtools Console of Chrome. To do so, type the following in the address bar:
chrome://flagsHit the enter key and you will be taken to the page shown in the screenshot below. This console allows you to enable or disable some of the features that are hidden in the main settings interface. Though as mentioned on this page, the options shown here are still experimental, and might not work as expected.

3- असुरक्षित सॉफ्टवेयर्स को रिमूव कर दें
जावा ब्राउजर प्लग-इन हैकरों का सीधा टारगेट होगा। ऐसे में यदि आपको जावा की बहुत अधिक जरूरत ना हो, तो उसे रिमूव कर दें। अगर आपको इसकी बहुत जरूरत है तो भी ध्यान रखें कि ब्राउजर प्लग-इन पूरी तरह से डिसेबल हैं और अप-टू-डेट भी हैं।
