Meena Kumari
Meena was born in a muslim family in 1932. Her Father was Ali Baksh. Mother was Iqbal Begum.Her father was interesed in acting and he tried to introduce this daughter into film at the age of just 7.She protested it, but inspite of that she got chances.She appeared as girl actress in 1939.Her appearence as a grown up girl started from films like Veer Ghatotkach(1949) and others.She got the leading role in Vijay Datt's famous film-"Baiju Bawra"(1952) which was about a musician.She got the prestigious Filmfare award for that in 1953.

Sridevi
Sridevi made her first public appearance as a child artist in the Tamil film Kandhan Karunai (1967). In the beginning of her career, she gave performances in numerous Tamil and Malayalam movies. In the year 1976, she got a major break in the Tamil movies in the lead role. In 1978, she made her entry in the Hindi films. Her debut Hindi film was Solva Saawan, which unfortunately did not succeed. But, her second film Himmatwala was a super duper hit.

Jaya Bachchan

On April 11, 1948 Jabalpur-based, Bengali-speaking Indira and Tarun Kumar Bhaduri were blessed with a child they named Jaya, and enrolled in the St. Joseph's Convent School in Bhopal.

Her acting career started when she was 15 in a Bengali film Mahanagar. She became an actress in her own right in Bollywood after the release of Guddi. She went on to star in many Hindi language films, including blockbusters like Jawani Diwani, Uphaar, Anamika, Abhimaan, Sholay, Bawarchi, Chupke Chupke Zanjeer just to name a few. Her acting spanned from 1963 to 1981. She also wrote the script of Shahenshah.

Zeenat Aman
Zeenat Aman was born on 19th November 1951, to a Hindu mother and a Muslim father. Her father Amanullah was one of the writers of the classic, period film "Mughal-e-Azam". She was the only child of her parents and witnessed heartbreak at a very young age, when her parents got divorced. Tragedy further struck her at the age of thirteen, when her father passed away, leaving a void in her life. Zeenat attended Saint Xavier's school in Bombay during her schooling days and graduated from there.
Zeenat Aman began her film career in 1971, with a small role in O. P. Ralhan's movie ‘Hulchul’. Thereafter, she was seen in Hungama (1971), starring singer Kishore Kumar. None of the films proved to be successful and she was hardly noticed. It was another 1971 film ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’, which served as the first major role of her career. Zeenat played the role of Dev Anand’ sister 'Janice/Jasbeel', which was first offered to Zaheeda. She won the heart of the audience in the R. D. Burman's song "Dum Maro Dum".

Dream Girl Hema malini

Hema Malini R. Chakravarty was born on 16 October 1948 in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. She is expert in Bharatanatyam dance. She was a second actress from South India after Vyijayantimala. She was commonly known as Dream Girl. She completed her education from Andhra Mahila Sabha in Chennain. In 1961, she performed into Telugu film, Pandava Vanavasam in which she played short role of dancer.

She did her first film in Bollywood was "Supanon Ka Saudagar" released in 1964. In this film she played role of young girl performed opposite with famous actor Raj Kapoor. From the film "Johnny Mera Naam" released in 1970, she is become very famous and performed with Dev Anand. She performed "Tere Mere Sapane" in 1971 also with Dev Anand. Her double role in the film "Seeta Aur Geeta" was much hit and she became star actress in Bollywood. She performed double role with Sanjeev Kumar and Dharmendra and film was released in 1972.

Waheeda Rehman

Waheeda was born in a Urdu-speaking family in Chengalpattu-Tamil Nadu, India, on May 14, 1936. Her father was the District Magistrate which led him to be posted in several places. Tragedy visited her in 1948 when her dad passed away. Her mom passed away in 1955.

A year after her dad's death she appeared in a Telegu movie 'Rojulu Marayi'. Her role was as an dancing child artiste. She is proficient in Bharat Natyam. It was here that she was spotted by noted Bollywood actor and film-maker, Guru Dutt, who gave her a lead role in C.I.D.. She went on to appear in 'Pyaasa', 'Kagaz Ke Phool', 'Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam', 'Chaudvi Ka Chand', 'Bees Saal Baad', 'Teesri Kasam' just to name a few, in a career that spanned from 1949 through to 2006. She has acted as a child artiste, a leading lady, then switched to character appearances. She has procured the Best Film Actress Award in 1965 for her role in 'Guide', and then again in 1968 for 'Neel Kamal'.

Mala Sinha

Mala Sinha was born to Albert Sinha, in a Nepalese Christian family. They named her Alda. Her friends at school used to tease her calling Dalda (a branded vegetable oil of India), so she changed her name to Mala. After acting in a couple of films in Calcutta, Mala had to go to Bombay to shoot for a Bengali film. There she met Geeta Dutt, a noted Bollywood playback singer, who was charmed by her and introduced her to film director Kidar Sharma. It was Sharma who cast her as a heroine in his film Rangeen Ratein. However, her first Hindi film was Badshah opposite Pradeep Kumar, than came Ekadashia mythological film both films failed, but her lead role in Kishore Sahu's Hamlet fetched her rave reviews in spite of the film failing at the boxoffice.

The father of Nargis was actively involved in Indian cinema. He was an all rounder as in singer, dancer, director, composer and actor.
