My guess:

Dev Anand's residence at Pali Hill, Bandra, in Mumbai.

I can see him in the centre, just behind the reclining person at the front.

I can also recognize Character Actor Manmohan sitting on Dev Anand's left and Music Director SD Burman is seen in between Dev Anand and ManMohan.

I am not sure, but I think the Sardaarjee at the top right corner of the picture is the writer Rajinder Singh Bedi, who used to live opposite to our Building in Mumbai when I was a boy during the 1960s. On every Sunday, in the afternoons and evenings, poets and writers of Bollywood used to meet at his house for tea and gapshap (Kaifi Azmi, Sahir Ludhianvi, Hasrat Jaipuri, Shailendra and others)

Please confirm if I am right.

Is it the movie where a Bihari boy is kidnapped and married off by his father's rival to his daughter?

Thank you, GV Sir. Yes, this is from 'Antardwand' a 2010 movie based on the practice of 'पकड़ुआ बियाह' or 'shotgun weddings' prevalent in the region of North Bihar. Over the years it has almost become a cottage industry with criminal gangs specialising in the trade. In a region, where dowry has social sanction, and the eligible boy is a priceless commodity, people are willing to break law to have a claim on the boy. This movie is based on a real life (1980s) experience of a friend of Sushil Rajpal, the Producer-Director of the movie. This film won the 55th National Film Award for best film on social issues.

It may not be out of place to add here that Rajpal did graduation in History from Hans Raj College, Delhi and earned a degree in Cinematography from FTTI, Pune.

इस बार किसी मित्र ने उत्तर नहीं दिया. चलिए, इस बार हम उत्तर दे देते हैं. उपरोक्त दृश्य 1974 में प्रदर्शित फिल्म "27 डाउन" से लिया गया है जिसके निर्देशक थे श्री अवतार कृष्ण कौल और प्रमुख कलाकार थे एम.के.कौल, राखी और रेखा सबनीस.

He was a great English Fiction Writer. EHB is the abbreviation of his real name but he became famous by his pen name. He is also known for his political satire. Can you identify him?
