You might have received emails or text messages congratulating you for winning a huge lottery you did not enter. You will be asked to send an initial amount so they can process your prize. They might even use the names of legal lotteries so it appears authentic when you search for it. The fact is that you cannot win a lottery or competition you have not even entered in the first place.
These emails or text messages will urge you act quickly and pay a fee to release your winnings. They might claim that the fee is for taxes and courier charges. Some might even ask for your bank account details so the prize can be sent directly to your account. They will misuse your identity and steal any amount you may have in your bank account as well. So, please don’t reply to such emails or phone calls.
