well at somepoint classifications exists in real world too so why not in forum. This is tough but this is good for members too. I agree with you here that prizes should be in forum, monitary prizes are not good. Deciding stuff, then buying, delivery yuck yuck yuck!!! Trust me, this will be pain in ***. I've experienced it lolz.
Better to give some extra powers temporarily or get his name on top of home page as winner of month or some special title. These would be great!!!

इस तरह की प्रतियोगिता से सभी सदस्य अच्छे, मौलिक और विचारोत्तेजक लेख लिखने को प्रोत्साहित होंगे और फोरम के स्तर मे भी सुधार आएगा। आप खुद भी देखिये कि प्रविष्टियाँ तो काफी हो रही है, एक-एक सदस्य एक दिन मे 500 तक प्रविष्टियाँ कर रहे है, पर गुणवत्ता कितनी दिख रही है?

फोरम एक बगीचा है - उसमे अच्छे और फलदार पेड़ लगाना है या बेकार युक्तिलीप्ट्स का पेड़ - यह तो सोचना ही पड़ेगा।
