Despite the majority of poorly made formule movies from India, There are highly educated, great artists and film makers who have been making great works of art.

There are great artists and movies done by commercial cinema too and it has definitely given some very powerful films but their number is quite limited.
In any case, the great Hindi cinema with some quality done in 60s, 70s and 80s is less visible today in 90s.

The interesting thing is that TV and its enormous apeal has reduced saleability of commercial movies which are bad, disgusting and simply copies of other bad movies. The average cinema goer in India has acquired some taste now.

Parallel Cinema was the category given to tèe movies mainly done by artistic filmmakers who created experimental movies for their pleasure.

Shyam Benegal, changed that with his simple low budget movies of high calibre.

The art cinema may not be glamorous or hollow stories but they do have message - a strong social message.

Such film makers are in all major languages from Malayalam to Marathi to Bengali to Hindi.

We will be reviewing and writing about great films of past 3 decades including the latest ones.

मैं तो इस विभाजन को मानता ही नहीं
मुझे फ़िल्में देखना पसंद है और मैं कभी इन्हें बाँट कर नहीं देखना चाहूँगा
फ़िल्में अच्छी या बुरी तो हो सकती है पर कला और व्यवसायिक, कदापि नहीं
कितनी ही तथकथित कला फिल्मों ने व्यवसाय के मामले में फार्मूला फिल्मों को पटखनी दी है
फ़िल्में मुख्य रूप से तीन कार्य करती है
मनोरंजन करती है
शिक्षित करती है
या फिर किसी मामले पर प्रकाश डालती है
ये काम दोनों तरह की फ़िल्में बखूबी करती है
अतः इसका विभाजन सरासर गलत है
