Thank God!!
you are back
From the tunnel of death
Trapped inside the creek for nine days
When a part of the tunnel caved in
And the fate of you two was sealed
In uncertainty for so long
Oxygen, food and communication restored
We can understand your emotions
When you tearfully asked the officers outside
To look after your kin
It was no less than an ordeal and a miracle.
Your indomitable spirit
And the daunting task of the rescue team
With their skills and machines
Calibrated the long rescue work
Without a pause dug a big hole
Into the rocky tunnel
And turned despair into hope
Out you came in your world of light.
Thank God !!

Thank You, Rescue team;
God Bless You.

(The poem is based on a recent mishap in Himachal Pradesh whereby a part of an under construction tunnel caved in. About 90 labourers were able to come out safely but two others were trapped in the interior part of the tunnel. After nine days of marathon operation, both of them were rescued safely)
