I know the reason, you were only 3 when in 1987 Forhan's production and sales stopped in India.

In late 70s, Forhan's was one most popular toothpaste in India. Some of the other top brands were Binaca, Vicco etc. Even then, Colgate had a strong presence in the market and it continously innovated and improved with time. However Forhan's, never did anything that could excite the consumer. The year 1987 was a bad one for Forhan's was forced to withdraw from India due to issues with fluoride formulations. And by the time the brand could worm its way back, Colgate and Pepsodent captured the entire market.
