कम्प्यूटर का जैसे-जैसे प्रचलन बढता गया वैसे-वैसे ऑफिस बहुत हद तक पेपरलेस होते चले गए। अब कम्प्यूटर के बिना शिक्षा और रोजगार संभव ही नहीं हैं इस कारण से ही अब छोटे-छोटे बच्चों के लिए भी स्कूलों में कम्प्यूटर शिक्षा की व्यवस्था की गई है। कम्प्यूटर की फील्ड में टॉप टु बॉटम कई ऐसे कोर्स हैं जिन्हें करके इस सेक्टर में प्रवेश पाया जा सकता है। कोर्सो के हिसाब से मांगी जाने वाली न्यूनतम शैक्षिक योग्यता भी अलग-अलग है। आप अपनी योग्यता के हिसाब से चाहें तो आईआईटी या किसी अन्य नामचीन इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज/यूनिवर्सिटी से बीटेक या बीसीए-एमसीए कर सकते हैं या फिर सॉफ्टवेयर डिजाइनिंग या हार्डवेयर-नेटवर्किग का कोर्स भी कर सकते हैं। कम्प्यूटर की सामान्य जानकारी के लिए किसी छोटे संस्थान से दो-तीन माह का कोर्स भी किया जा सकता है। इस क्षेत्र में कोर्स का चयन इस बात पर डिपेंड करता है कि आपको आगे कम्प्यूटर से जुडा कौन सा काम करना होता है। इस फील्ड में प्रवेश के लिए न्यूनतम शैक्षिक योग्यता 12वीं है। इस कोर्स की सबसे बडी खासियत यह है कि इसमें किसी भी स्ट्रीम के स्टूडेंट्स कॅरियर बना सकते हैं। इसके अलावा कोर्स करने के बाद युवाओं के पास अन्य सेक्टर की अपेक्षा नौकरी की संभावनाएं अधिक रहती है। आइए कम्प्यूटर से जुडे कुछ ऐसे क्षेत्रों को जानें, जिनमें आज अधिक स्कोप दिखाई दे रहा है।

यह काम सॉफ्टवेयर इंजीनियर करते हैं। ये लोग अपने कस्टमर या कंपनी की डिमांड के अनुसार सॉफ्टवेयर का निर्माण और उसकी टेस्टिंग करते हैं। सॉफ्टवेयर डेवलपमेंट में काम करने के लिए नॉलेज को हमेशा अपडेट करते रहने के साथ ही प्रमुख प्रोग्रामिंग लैंग्वेजेज, जैसे- सी, सी++, जावा, विजुअल बेसिक आदि में विशेषज्ञता हासिल करनी होगी
