Brazil out of World Cup

Brazil, the strongest contendor for Fifa World Cup 2010 is out of the race for champions. Netherlands have defeated Brazil by 2-1 in the quarter final match.

The FIFA World Cup 2010 has reached the climax stage, as the semifinal line-up has been drawn. Four teams - Netherlands, Uruguay, Germany and Spain have qualified for the Round of Four.

In the first quarterfinal, the Netherlands stunned Brazil 2-1. In the second quarterfinal, Uruguay beat Ghana in penalty shootout.

In the third quarterfinal, Germany caused a big upset, by beating Argentina 4-0. Spain beat Paraguay in the fourth quarterfinal to reach the semis.

The World Cup semifinals will begin on July 7. In the first semifinal, the Netherlands will take on Uruguay. The second semifinal will be held between Germany and Spain on July 8.
