Default Fight Spam in Vbulletin
The best way to fight spamming in vbulletin is to enable image verfication especially recaptcha.

Vbulletin AdminCP > Vbulletin Options > User Registration Options > Enable Image Verification
Vbulletin AdminCP > Vbulletin Options > User Registration Options > Enable Image Verification
Vbulletin AdminCP > Vbulletin Options > Image Settings > Select GD Library and Random Shapes
