The 'English Vinglish' sari collection

Sridevi's much-lauded comeback film English Vinglish seems to have done much more than just revive her career. It has brought the interest back in the sari.

Sridevi is mostly seen in South cotton saris in the film.

She plays a middle-aged housewife in the film and her sari collection comprised mostly sober, single-toned cotton and cotton-crepes.

The saris she wears at home are cotton and cotton-mixed block prints.

Cotton Kanjivarams, cotton Ikkats were also spotted. In this scene she wears a yellow sari with red and black border.

Sri uses her saris in the film for comfort unlike Sushmita Sen who made it a fashion statement in the film Main Hoon Na.

A rare silk was spotted in one scene of English Vinglish and this onion-coloured Tasar looks gorgeous on her.

The block print nicely off sets the pink of this one. We wouldn't be surprised if Sridevi starts a rush to buy block prints from retailers.

A closer look at the sari. Her blouses are fairly simple, no nonsense affairs.
