(2)Biggest dud:

Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Eklavya: The Royal Guard was chosen, after a huge controversy, as India's official entry to the Oscars for the year 2007. But unfortunately (though not surprisingly!), the film failed to impress the judges and couldn't make it to the next round.

आमिर इस बार भी पुरी कोशिश करने वाले हैँ
वहाँ की प्रचार और मार्केटिँग एजेँसियोँ की मदत से वह वोटिँग से पहले आँस्कर अकादमी के सदस्योँ को इस फिल्म के बारे मेँ जागरुकता बना देगेँ
पिछले कुछ महिनो पहले लंदन मे इस फिल्म के शो आयोजित कर रहे थे और तय हैँ कि जनवरी मेँ जब वोटिँग होगी तो पीपली लाइव वहाँ खासी चर्चित हो चुकी होगी
यक्ष प्रश्न यही हैँ कि क्या यह फिल्म आँस्कर की उस मुरत को भारत की धरती पर ला पाएगी
जिसका सपना मदर इंडिया के जमाने से देखा जा रहा हैँ
अब इस सवाल का जवाब तो वक्त हीँ देगा

It seems Aamir Khan has a history of bad luck with the Oscars. Despite being a brilliant film and it's tremendous success in India, actor's Rang De Basanti was eliminated out of the Oscar race at the 79th Annual Academy Awards.

Though Amol Palekar's Paheli couldn't set the box office on fire in India, it did get shortlisted for the Oscars. But sadly, it couldn't win an award.

Heart broken: The New York Times described 1947: Earth as - a powerful and disturbing reminder of how a civilization could suddenly crack under certain pressures. But despite all such rave reviews, the film couldn't crack the Oscars.
