After breaking box-office records with Dabangg, actor Salman Khan is ready to entertain audiences in his popular avatar of Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg 2, which releases this Friday.

Dabangg was set in a village and had the rustic, rural flavour of Uttar Pradesh. The story this time around will shift to a posh metropolitan city.

The sequel will see Chulbul Pandey to be transferred to a city, where he will mingle with the elite, but will retain his simplistic flavour and values. Dabangg having been a blockbuster, the buzz around the sequel is high too.

The original movie was directed by Abhinav Kashyap, but he opted out of the sequel due to some issues, following which Salman's brother and producer Arbaaz Khan jumped in as the director.

Made under the banner of Arbaaz Khan Productions, Dabangg 2 has been written by Dilip Shukla. This will be Arbaaz's first film as a director.

The film will see Salman and Sonakshi Sinha again reprising their roles of Chulbul Pandey and Rajjo, while Vinod Khanna will feature as Prajapati Pandey, and Arbaaz as Makhanchan Pandey.

Dabangg proved to a turning point of actor Sonu Sood's career, who played the main antagonist Chhedi Singh. Initially he was a part of the sequel too, but had to opt out because of date issues.

Now, Prakash Raj has been roped in to play the antagonist. Made at a budget of approximately Rs 50 crore, the film is likely to release in over 3,000 screens.

The songs of Dabangg 2 have also become popular, generating more interest in the film. While Dabangg had Malaika Arora Khan's Munni badnaam hui, Dabangg 2 features actress Kareena Kapoor in item song Fevicol Se, which is ruling the music charts already.

Since the release of Dabangg in 2010, the movie and Chulbul Pandey have become a brand. Whether the sequel will be able to create the same magic as Dabangg remains to be seen.

After the release of Shah Rukh Khan's Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Aamir Khan's Talaash, both of which earned big bucks at the box-office, it would be interesting to see how Dabangg 2 does at the box-office and which Khan takes the top slot.

Dabangg 2 Plot

Chulbul Pandey is transferred and promoted to Lucknow. He is happily married with Rajjo and has a child. Lucknow witness a lot of criminal activities daily and kidnapping, rape and murders are done in broad daylight. The main antagonist/villain is a politician and a strong contender for the upcoming elections and Chulbul Pandey sabotages his political image by revealing his immoral activities to the public, media and police force and he is imprisioned. This angers the villains 2 brothers who kidnaps Chulbul's son and torture him. Meanwhile, the main antagonist comes out from prison.

सलमान खान की आने वाली फिल्म 'दबंग 2' को लेकर सलमान के भाई अरबाज खान काफी उत्साहित हैं आखिर हों भी क्यों ना ये उनकी बतौर निर्देशक पहली फिल्म जो है। अरबाज का कहना है कि ये फिल्म सिर्फ एक्शन या कॉमेडी फिल्म नहीं है बल्कि इसमें काफी कुछ है मनोरंजन के लिए। दबंग 2 में सलमान खान के साथ सोनाक्षी सिन्हा हैं और साथ ही उनकी मुंहबोली बहन करीना कपूर का आइटम सॉंग भी। ये फिल्म 2010 में रिलीज हुई ब्लॉकबस्टर फिल्म 'दबंग' का सीक्वल है और इसके किरदार रज्जो और चुलबुल पांडे 'दबंग 2' में भी हैं।

'दबंग 2' दिसंबर 21 को रिलीज होगी। इस फिल्म के बारे में बताते हुए अरबाज खान ने कहा "आप सभी को इस फिल्म में एक्शन के साथ काफी स्टाइल देखने को मिलेगा और ये स्टाइल आपको चुलबुल पांडे के किरदार और दबंग के ब्रैंड को काफी कॉम्पलीमेंट करता हुआ दिखेगा। एक्शन फिल्म का एक बहुत ही जरुरी हिस्सा है लेकिन इसके बावजूद फिल्म में आपको जरुरत से ज्यादा एक्शन देखने को नहीं मिलेगा। इसके एक्शन के पीछे एक कहानी भी है। सिर्फ एक्शन ही आपको नही मिलेगा। बिना किसी इमोशन के फिल्म में कुछ भी नहीं डाला गया है।"

दबंग 2 में करीना कपूर किया गया आइटम सॉंग फेविकॉल से और बाकी कई गाने जैसे दगाबाज रे आदि काफी पसंद किये जा रहे हैं। म्यूसिक कंपोसर साजिद वाजिद दबंग के बाद अब इसके सीक्वल में भी जुड़े हैं। अरबाज ने इनके बारे में बताया "फिल्म में पांच गाने गाने हैं। दबंग के गाने बेहतरीन थे और इस बार साजिद वाजिद ने और भी बेहतरीन गाने बनाए हैं। मुझे लगता है कि कंपोसर्स ने बेहतरीन काम किया है।" साथ ही अरबाज खान ने ये भी कहा कि दबंग अब एक ब्रांड है और इस ब्रांड के साथ तालमेल बैठाने को लेकर मैं बहुत ही सचेत था। मैं इस फिल्म को बहुत अच्छी तरह और मनोरंजक तरह से पेश करना चाहता था। और जानिये इस फिल्म के बारे में।

अभिनेता-निर्माता अरबाज खान का कहना है कि फिल्म ‘दबंग 2’ से सलमान की एक नई पहचान बनने वाली है. उनका कहना है कि साल 2010 की एक्शन से भरपूर फिल्म इस फिल्म के सीक्वल में सलमान खान अपने जीवन के अब तक के बेहतरीन किरदार में दिखेंगे.
अरबाज ने कहा कि सलमान खान की बहादुरी को दर्शकों ने सराहा है और उसे पसंद भी किया है.

अरबाज ने कहा, ‘इस फिल्म में सबकुछ है जो कि दर्शक अपने इस ‘दबंग हीरो’ से उम्मीद करते हैं. आप इसमें चुलबुल पांडे के सभी कारनामे और उसकी बहादुरी देख सकेंगे.’

सलमान की यह विशेष छवि फिल्म ‘वांटेड’ से बनी है और जो ‘रेडी’, ‘बॉडीगार्ड’ और ‘एक था टाइगर’ जैसी फिल्मों में सफलता का मूल मंत्र बनी. 45 वर्षीय अरबाज फिलहाल कानपुर में इस फिल्म की शूटिंग कर रहे हैं.

उन्होंने कहा कि हमें पता है कि लोगों को इस फिल्म से कुछ अलग की उम्मीद होगी लेकिन यह पहली फिल्म की तरह ही बेहद साधारण है. यदि मैं ‘दबंग’ का प्रशंसक हूं तो मैं निश्चित रूप से कुछ खास दृश्यों को जरूर देखना चाहूंगा. नई फिल्म में आप चुलबुल पांडे को नए शहर में नई परिस्थितियों और नए विवाद में घिरा देखेंगे.
