स्वामी विवेकानंद अमेरिका में भ्रमण कर रहे थे . एक जगह से गुजरते हुए उन्होंने पुल पर खड़े कुछ लड़कों को नदी में तैर रहे अंडे के छिलकों पर बन्दूक से निशाना लगाते देखा . किसी भी लड़के का एक भी निशाना सही नहीं लग रहा था . तब उन्होंने ने एक लड़के से बन्दूक ली और खुद निशाना लगाने लगे . उन्होंने पहला निशाना लगाया और वो बिलकुल सही लगा ….. फिर एक के बाद एक उन्होंने कुल 12 निशाने लगाये और सभी बिलकुल सटीक लगे . ये देख लड़के दंग रह गए और उनसे पुछा , ” भला आप ये कैसे कर लेते हैं ?”

स्वामी जी बोले , “तुम जो भी कर रहे हो अपना पूरा दिमाग उसी एक काम में लगाओ. अगर तुम निशाना लगा रहे हो तो तम्हारा पूरा ध्यान सिर्फ अपने लक्ष्य पर होना चाहिए. तब तुम कभी चूकोगे नहीं . अगर तुम अपना पाठ पढ़ रहे हो तो सिर्फ पाठ के बारे में सोचो . मेरे देश में बच्चों को ये करना सिखाया जाता है. ”

श्री श्री रवि शंकर



श्री श्री रवि शंकर (जन्म: १३ मई, १९५६) एक आध्यामिक नेता एवं मानवतावादी धर्मगुरु हैं। उनके भक्त उन्हें आदर से प्राय: "श्री श्री" के नाम से पुकारते हैं। वे अन्तरराष्ट्रीय जीवन जीने की कला फाउन्डेशन (international Art of Living Foundation) के संस्थापक हैं।

श्री श्री रविशंकर का जन्म भारत के तमिलनाडु राज्य में 13 मई 1956 को हुआ। उनके पिता का नाम व वेंकेट रतनम था जो भाषाविद् थे। उनकी माता श्रीमती विषलक्षी सुशील महिला थीं। आदि शंकराचार्य से प्रेरणा लेते हुए उनके पिता ने उनका नाम रखा शंकर।
शंकर शुरू से ही आध्यात्मिक प्रवृत्ति के थे। मात्र चार साल की उम्र में वे भगवदगीता के श्लोकों का पाठ कर लेते थे। बचपन में ही उन्होंने ध्यान करना शुरू कर दिया था। उनके शिष्य बताते हैं कि फीजिक्स में अग्रिम डिग्री उन्होंने 17 वर्ष की आयु में ही ले ली थी।
शंकर पहले महर्षि महेश योगी के शिष्य थे। उनके पिता ने उन्हें महेश योगी को सौंप दिया था। अपनी विद्वता के कारण शंकर महेश योगी के प्रिय शिष्य बन गये। उन्होंने अपने नाम रवि शंकर के आगे ‘श्री श्री’ जोड़ लिया जब प्रख्यात सितार वादक रवि शंकर ने उन पर आरोप लगाया कि वे उनके नाम की कीर्ति का इस्तेमाल कर रहे हैं।
रवि शंकर लोगों को सुदर्शन क्रिया सिखाते हैं। इसके बारे में वो कहते हैं कि 1982 में दस दिवसीय मौन के दौरान कर्नाटक के भद्रा नदी के तीरे लयबद्ध सांस लेने की क्रिया एक कविता या एक प्रेरणा की तरह उनके जेहन में उत्तपन्न हुई। उन्होंने इसे सीखा और दूसरों को सिखाना शुरू किया।
1982 में में श्री श्री रवि शंकर ने आर्ट आफ लिविंग की स्थापना की। यह शिक्षा और मानवता के प्रचार प्रसार के लिए कार्य करती है। 1997 में ‘इंटरनेशनल एसोसियेशन फार ह्यूमन वैल्यू’ की स्थापना की जिसका उद्देश्य वैश्विक स्तर पर उन मूल्यों को फैलाना है जो लोगों को आपस में जोड़ती है।

Laxmi Bai – झांसी की रानी लक्ष्मीबाई



Rani Laxmibai was born in November 19, 1835. Her father was a Brahmin. Her mother was a brave God fearing lady. The Rani lost her mother at the age of four. She learned horseback riding, sword fighting, and shooting on a target with a gun. She was married to the maharaja of Jhansi, his name was Raja Ghangadhar Rao. In 1842 she was called the Rani of Jhansi. After the marriage, the Rani was called Lakshmi Bai. She was married in the temple of Ganesh. In 1851, the Rani had a son; he unfortunately died when he was barely four months old. So the Rani adopted a son, his name was Damodar Rao. The British weren't satisfied with the idea that Damodar was the legal heir to the throne. The governor of India said that Jhansi would be broken down since Gangadhar had left no heir to the throne. Because of that, a war broke out between the citizens of Jhansi and the British. Rani was not ready to give up Jhansi, she was a symbol of patriotism and self respect. On March 1858, the British decided to attack Jhansi. The Rani did not surrender, the battle continued for two weeks. Rani Laxmibai was very active. She herself was looking over the city. However, Jhansi was given to the British. That day the British army entered the city of Jhansi. Rani dressed as a man, had her baby strapped to her back, she held the horse reins in her mouth, and held two swords in her hands. When the time was ripe, the army and the Rani escaped. At the age of 22, the Rani lost her life. That day was June 18, 1858.

जो देवों और मनुष्य द्वारा पूज्य होते हैं, जो स्वयं तरते हैं तथा औरों को तरने का मार्ग बताते हैं, उन्हें तीर्थंकर कहते हैं। तीर्थंकर जन्म और मृत्यु के बंधन से मुक्त होते हैं।
