Max Speed ... Firefox
1: Open up Firefox 2: Type "about:config" into the address bar. 3: In the filter bar type "max" 4: Look for... network.http.max-connections network.http.max-connections-per-server network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server network.http.pipelining.maxrequests 5: You will see the column "value", now change the value for network.http.max-connections network.http.max-connections-per-server network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to what ever you want. e.g. just triple or multiply the values(thanks to me3dow for that tip). 6: Now once you have changed the values just close firefox and open it up and you will see increased speeds. |

This trick just increases the maximum number of connection, so if opening more than page, you will feel a bit of difference. But technically, there is no way you can change the windows settings to increase your internet speed.
Also, this trick will cause to slow down yoru internet speed for pages with lots of images. So, I would suggest not doing it, unless all you use your connection is for reading purposes. For all else purposes, default settings are always the best.

Yes, I do it all the time. Whenever I am reading something on internet, this helps. But for a page with lots of images, page load time is actually slower than normal. Anyways I suggested not to use t, for new users, since if it messes up something, they will have to re-install browser. If you are technically sound, you can do anything you want and still make sure your system works fine. Else, its better to keep away from such tricks.
